PANAMA. The CEMIS case is a pandora’s box. Since the Supreme Court decided to reopen the case , every day a fresh dirty secret coming out.
Back in 2002, Legislator Tito Afu reported bribes given to him and other PRD legislators to approve an industrial center (CEMIS) but the case was closed by the Supreme Court for mismanagement of the process. Jose Maria Castillo was then the general secretary of the Attorney General's office.
Now Castillo is the the peculiar situation of being the defending lawyer for Martin Rodin, the person accused of bribing legislators to gain approval of the CEMIS project. “Its been years since that and I am lawer”, said Castillo.
