The Minister of Government and Justice Dilio Arcia, the director of the National Police, Francisco Troya and 54 representatives of security companies signed the agreement.
The program called “Operational Support Network” (Red de Apoyo Operacional) will cost $200,000 and will be connected to a communications system that will be operated, administered and monitored from the Operations Center of the National Police.
From there both sectors will plan joint operations to deal with the different cases they come across.
President Martin Torrijos said that with this initiative, the police would gain 12,000 allies in their fight against crime and violence currently affecting the country.
