The government made an offer of $25,000 per bus to the 1500 owners of “diablo rojos” as part of a compensatory plan.
For the owners to receive the money they will have to present the bus registration and follow the necessary procedures at the Traffic and Terrestrial Transport Authority.
The Transmovil plan includes as part of its strategy a course for bus drivers. Those who attend the classes at the Traffic Authority will receive $3,000 and if they decide to work under the new system will receive an additional $2,000 as an incentive. However, the Users and Transport drivers Movement said that the whole proposal was a sham and that unscrupulous individuals are taking advantage of the situation buying buses for $2000 to claim the $25,000.
