PANAMA. Work to prepare for carnival celebrations has begun. Transportation and the Traffic Authority (ATTT) and the Carnival Board have announced that part of Via Transistmica will be closed from the early hours of today. The bridge over Tumba Muerto near the National Brewery until the traffic lights at entrance of El Carmen, by McDonalds will not have through traffic to allow the construction of the main stage.
In the early hours of Friday the Transistmica will be completely closed up to El Ingenio.
All drivers who use these routes on a daily basis should exercise patience.
All traffic that want to enter the city should turn down the street toward El Ingenio, and go through Bethania in order to get to Ricardo J. Alfaro and all of the buses from the Transistmica route will go towards Tumba Muerto.
Those that come from the east part of the city will go toward Via España.
The Transistmica will open again on Feb. 25.
