The event, organized by major league baseball player Carlos Lee, serves the purpose of demonstrating genetic advances, and positive developments, shown by raising cattle in Panama, over the years.

Around 550 cattle from 62 ranches and 160 quarter horses will be participating.

The best breeds will receive prizes and the animals, will have a price range of $1,500 to $20,000 , depending on the breed and place of origin.

Invited to the event, to observe the advances made by Panamanian breeders are delegations from the United States, Guatemala and Mexico.

Included in the fair program, is a horse show, dancing and performances by local artists.

Currently, there are 39,000 cattle farms in Panama, accounting for one million head of cattle, according to official records.
