PANAMA. Panama’s Attorney General, Ana Matilde Gomez, has not yet determined the veracity of the documents submitted by the Minister of Government and Justice, Daniel Delgado Diamante, who claims he was prosecuted and dismissed for the murder of corporal Andres Garcia in 1970.

A source confirmed to the TV news channel TVN that among the documents submitted were a transfer request and orders of the then lieutenant Delgado from Los Tigres barracks in Panama Viejo to the headquarters of the National Guard, four days after Garcia’s death.

There are also documents indicating that at 5:50 p.m. on February 8, 1970 DDD shot Garcia in Panama Viejo, and the death was announced 40 minutes later.

However, there are no signs of records alluding to any penal process undergone by the Minister regarding the case. Documents are mere police reports from the extinct Panama Viejo barracks.
