This cultural exchange trip will be possible thanks to the support of the Presidency, the Panama’s National Culture Institute (INAC), and the Foundation for Performing Arts and Audiovisuals (FAE in Spanish).

Before the trip to Korea, the FAE Foundation has coordinated last presentation of this unique piece of choreography for this Thursday October 23 at 8 p.m. at the Balboa Theater, in hopes of enabling those who haven’t yet seen “Flight Theory” to appreciate this high-quality performance.

“Theory of Flight” is the first that Martinez brings to stage, after her extraordinary choreography “Cabanga”, which was invited to important international events and won the main prize in the Mar de Plata Festival. This was Martinez’s first performance in her home country after returning from years of studying and dancing in Chile, United States and Japan.

“Theory of Flight” is interpreted by Martinez herself and the very prominent national ballerina Analida Galindo. Their work is complemented by the audiovisual work by Enrique Castro, Panamanian filmmaker, who brings an air of contemporary air to the performance.

Entrance cost will be a voluntary donation by the audience, whose contributions will help cover the expenses of the delegation that will be representing us in the demanding Eastern stages. Besides Martinez (choreographer and ballerina), Galindo, and Castro, David Colindres (lights and sounds technician) and Roberto Enrique King (international producer) will also be travelling with the delegation.
