PANAMA. After touring the US and winning a Billboard, Nigga takes a break in his natal city of Chitre. He invites Panamanians to vote

The biggest winner in the latest Latin American Billboard Awards, Felix Danilo Gomez “Nigga” ,arrived in his birthplace Chitre, earlier this week, for a short break before hitting the road again.

He will be making a continental concert tour taking in Central and South America, the United States and Canada.

Nigga said the company that represents him recommended him to come to Panama instead of returning to Mexico City, where he normally lives, because the International Airport Benito Juarez in Mexico City would be closed until the swine flu outbreak which threatens to turn into a worldwide pandemic is under control.

The renowned Panamanian singer regrets he will not be in Panama for the elections on May 3 given his career responsibilities, but he has registered to vote through the Internet.

“We need to vote, Panamanians are responsible for the building a good path for the future of this country. Panama is a great country and the people need to go out and exert their right on May 3,” he said.

On his groundbreaking participation in the Billboard Awards, where he won 8 out of 13 nominations, outdoing Luis Fonsi, Mana, and Enrique Iglesias, Nigga says he is proud to have achieved so much success with the single “Te quiero,” song with which he conquered the international market.

“We wrote a big song in the history of music with the Panamanian record Romantic Style ( his first solo record) and we are happy.

“We haven’t stopped working and we are going to keep at it.

“I thank the Panamanian people who have been supporting us all along,” he said.

According to media reports from Mexico City, the government has banned massive concentrations of people, which has forced the singer to cancel some of his concerts until the outbreak is under control.
