PANAMA. The Public Ministry has confirmed the detention of Roberto Rodrigo Jaramillo Rodríguez, linked to an attempted burglary outside the Lottery building on Avenida Cuba in March, leading to the the death of the head of the National Institute of Culture, Anel Omar Rodríguez.

Jaramillo, with a past police record, was taken to the headquarters of the Judicial Investigation Directive, where tests will be conducted.

The man is believed to be the assailant carrying a teddy bear, pretending to be delivering a gift as a cover for the gun he was carrying. The police now have three assailants linked with the crime in custody. Still missing is a woman, said to be driving the car carrying the delinquents.
