WASHINGTON.
A report released Thursday on the NBA's officiating program found no evidence of illegal gambling by any referee other than by Tim Donaghy.
But the report by former federal prosecutor Lawrence Pedowitz said the league's anti-gambling rules need to be strengthened and better enforced.
"We welcome the recommendations from Mr Pedowitz in areas where we can improve - all of which will be adopted, and many of which have already been adopted..." NBA Commissioner David Stern said.
No evidence of illegal betting activity was found by anyone other than Donaghy, who is serving a 15-month prison term after pleading guilty to providing inside information to gamblers.
The report recommended the NBA restructure the management of its officiating program.
