PANAMA. A film by Claude Berri “Ensemble c’est tout” (Juntos nada mas) is the opening title of the VIII French Film Festival starting today at Cinepolis.

A fine selection of five French films with Spanish subtitles will grace the Panamanian movie scene for two weeks thanks to the Alliance Francaise, the French Embassy and the Sanofi-Aventis Company.

After the Berri film, the audience will enjoy “De jour au lendemain” (De un dia para otro) by Phillipe Le Guay, “Je m’appelle Elisabeth” (Me llamo Elisabeth) by Jean Pierre Ameris, “Detrompez Vous” (Cambiamos de pareja?) by Bruno Dega and Jeanne Le Guillou and “Ne le di a personne” (No se lo digas a nadie) by Guillaume Canet.

The festival was initiated by the French alliances of Central America to promote film art and the dynamic renewal of French culture, according to Valerie Frassati from Panama’s Alliance Francaise.

The festival starts today at 7:00 p.m. and continues to June 30.

Tickets are $2 only. For more information contact the Alliance Francaise: 223-7376.
