PANAMA. Ernesto Chong, the former financial advisor to the alleged Colombian fraudster, David Murcia Guzman, said that he was never his friend and that he is not in possession of the $8 million, Murcia has accused him of stealing.
In an interview with La Estrella, Chong said that Murcia is a liar and his only role was to pay the supplier and receive payments from DMG clients.
Murcia is awaiting trial in Colombia, accused of running a pyramid scheme through his company DMG that defrauded hundreds of customers in Colombia and Panama. The Colombian said that Chong stole $8 million from him, after he was arrested.
Talking about the allegations of corruption made by Murcia against candidates of the Revolutionary Democratic Party PRD (Partido Revolucionario Democratico) and President Martin Torrijos, Chong said that it was shameful that a person who is jail has created so much commotion.
