PANAMA. Thirty-three members (21 adults and 12 children) of the Naso indigenous group from the San San, San Druy, and San San Tigra communities have been camped out on the Cathedral Plaza in Casco Viejo for over nine days in hopes of obtaining a positive response from the government. The indigenous members were forcefully evicted from their homes in the Bocas del Toro province after Ganadera Bocas SA bulldozed over their houses, claiming property rights over the lands. Some of the protesters have started a hunger strike.
